Sara Pruneda Beesley is the Director at the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, where she oversees community engagement and conservation initiatives/strategies at the center and across the San Antonio region for the National Audubon Society. She holds a B.A. from Trinity University and an M.S. from Our Lady of the Lake University in Nonprofit Management. She recently served on the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (now South Texas Business Partnership), where she was Tourism Chair on the San Antonio River Authority’s Regional Park Coordinating Council; and contributed to the Sustainability and Climate Action plans for the city of San Antonio. She sits on multiple advisory committees for San Antonio, including two area regional plans and one parks plan, as the environmental and wildlife advocate. Nationally, she is a member of The Climate Reality Project Leadership Corps, serves on the international American Birding Association Board of Directors as Diversity and Inclusion Committee Chair, and participates on the Association of Nature Center Administrators Equity and Diversity Committee. Sara is passionate about making the outdoors a safe and accessible space for everyone.
