collaboration catalyst
Over our 25-year history, New Sector Alliance has built a track record and connections that make it a trusted cross-sector convener capable of catalyzing change. We convene organizations across the public, social, and private sectors that are invested in making an impact to synchronize their investment in service to systemic change.
The model
Our Collaboration Catalyst offering goes beyond traditional leadership development by recognizing that sustainable impact requires a robust collaborative infrastructure that goes beyond the boundaries of any one sector. The program creates intentional space for leaders from multiple organizations to develop their collaborative capacity while working together to address shared challenges, coordinate strategies, and strengthen the collective ecosystem to address the most pressing needs and complex challenges facing our communities.
Our Approach
We bring together leaders who understand the unique pressures and opportunities that have stood in the way of systemic change to help move from isolated problem-solving to collective action. Through systems mapping and multi-level impact models designed and driven by cross-sector leaders, the Collaboration Catalyst is uniquely positioned to address the complex, interconnected challenges that only intentional alignment and coordinated action can resolve.

catalyzing change for boston’s food system
The Leadership Longevity Fellowship for Food System Leaders in Greater Boston exemplifies the Collaboration Catalyst approach, tailored to help stabilize critical food system nonprofits and the people that power them during a period of heightened need.
Supported by The Boston Foundation, The Cambridge Community Foundation, and New Sector Alliance, this cohort serves up to 15 nonprofit leaders working at food system organizations across Greater Boston. At a time when significant, immediate cuts to SNAP have deepened the urgency to stabilize these critical organizations meeting the current moment, the program provides essential support to the frontline leaders behind Greater Boston's food security infrastructure.
This cohort ensures that food system leaders have the tools, strategies, and networks of support needed to collaborate, adapt, and lead their organizations through a time of immense change and increased demand for services. The program expands beyond individual resilience to foster systems-level strategic planning and collaboration among the organizations holding Greater Boston's social safety net together—demonstrating how Collaboration Catalyst strengthens not just individual leaders, but entire sectors working toward transformative change.
