Ylva is a youth development professional who believes in creating opportunities for young people to explore their leadership skills and build impactful relationships. Currently, Ylva serves as a Program Manager at the Big Sister Association of Greater, which focuses on developing girls and gender-expansive youth ages 7-24 through positive mentoring relationships. Ylva oversees the group and teen-facilitated programs. She aims to expand the program to new sites and build new paid opportunities for the young people Big Sister serves. Ylva received her undergraduate degree in sociology with a concentration in youth and community studies from Suffolk University in Boston. Before Big Sister, Ylva worked with the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence and the Welcome Back Center at Bunker Hill Community College.
