Shannon Laribo is an Alumni Transition Coordinator at Meeting Street Academy, the flagship of an innovative network of PreK-8 schools in South Carolina. As part of the alumni services and admission teams, Shannon has worked for four years to provide holistic support to families as they transition to middle schools, high schools, colleges, and careers. She also facilitates workshops and professional development on identity and equity. Before this role, Shannon worked as an assistant director of admission, a resident life advisor, and an Americorps literacy tutor at primary and secondary schools in South Carolina, DC, and Northern Virginia. She began her career in the film industry as a production assistant, casting assistant, and script reader. Shannon received a Bachelor of Arts in film and a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University. As a Fulbright scholar, she received a master’s degree in methods of social research from the University of Kent in Canterbury, United Kingdom. Shannon is excited to focus more on her personal growth as self-care and sustainability have become of utmost importance to her. In her free time, Shannon enjoys roller derby, nature trails, writing, and spending time with her family.
