Nico Bernardo

Facilitator Fellow

Nico joins New Sector Alliance with over a decade of systems-change leadership across public education, non-profits, and philanthropy with a strong draw to the work of storytelling, operations, youth leadership, and organizational well-being. Nico holds an undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College, where they received the Katherine Murray Prize for social justice in education, as well as a master's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Education, Policy, Organization, & Leadership. Grounded in the belief that education is a fundamentally political act with the power to drive either conformity or liberation, Nico draws energy from people, communities, and the stories each carry with them. They spend most of their time on the ancestral lands of the Mashpee Wampanoag in Massachusetts where they live with their spouse and two children. Nico enjoys the hottest of coffee, cool morning hikes, and manifesting Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to the top of the Premier League.
