Kris Smith

Facilitator Fellow

Kris Smith (they/she) is a facilitator, social worker, and visual artist who supports leaders by creating spaces where individuals and teams can practice aligning their actions with their values and visions for the world. Kris has been a facilitator and program administrator in the nonprofit sector since 2006 starting with work in arts-based youth development spaces. Since 2019, they have been supporting social change organizations through stuck points and interpersonal, organizational, and strategic challenges as an organizational development consultant and, later, as a project manager and network director for an organization focused on civic engagement and journalism.

They are also a certified Trauma-Competent Professional and Trainer of Lakeside Global Institute’s trauma courses, and were a co-coordinator and co-facilitator of the now sunsetted Weavers of Equity program, a fellowship for women and gender expansive leaders of color in Philadelphia-area organizations. Overall, Kris is interested in how we can honor our inherent dignity as we create more possibilities for our shared futures. Kris lives in Philadelphia with their spouse and their curious cats, and enjoys listening to music and podcasts and questing to find the most delicious donuts in the city.
