Vera Hannush (they/them) has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit world. They have served as the Senior Grants Officer for Taube Philanthropies for a decade and currently serve as the Bay Area Development Officer for Covenant House California, where they had previously volunteered for 15 years. They are a passionate advocate for queer and trans communities and youth experiencing homelessness. They serve as the Lead Volunteer Trainer on the LGBTQ National Hotline. They are a Board Member of Oaklash, the Bay Area Drag Festival, and have previously served as a two-term Board President of the Pacific Center, the LGBTQ community and mental health center in Berkeley. They are a member of DragLab and Drag Story Hour. They are also a host and member of the Rebel Kings of Oakland, the oldest drag king troupe on the West Coast. They recently were the 2022 Counterpulse Performing Diaspora Resident, focusing on Armenian dance. They are the founder-facilitator of COPED (Children of Parents with Eating Disorders) and served as peer group facilitators for Queer/Trans SWANA support groups. They received their Master's in Classics from UC Berkeley and majored in Latin and German at Wellesley College. They reside in Oakland.
