New Sector AmeriCorps Programs Application

  • Eligibility Requirements to join a New Sector AmeriCorps program:

    • You must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • You must have a high school diploma or GED
    • You cannot have served two or more State and National AmeriCorps program terms.

  • Application Materials

    In addition to copying and pasting your cover letter, resume, and writing sample below, if you are a Summer Fellows program applicant, please send a copy of all three documents to summerfellows@newsector.org. If you are a Residency in Social Enterprise applicant, please send the three documents to rise@newsector.org.

    • Cover letters should be addressed to Jessica Lee
    • Cover Letters should be saved and sent as LastName_FirstName CL.doc
      (ex. Smith_John CL.doc)
    • Resumes should be saved and sent as LastName_FirstName Resume.doc
      (ex. Smith_John Resume.doc)
    • Writing Samples should be saved and sent as LastName_FirstName Sample.doc
      (ex. Smith_John Sample.doc)
  • Cover Letter

    • Word limit: 500 words
    • Your cover letter should answer the following questions:
      1. What do you hope to gain through your participation in the New Sector AmeriCorps program to which you are applying?
      2. What unique qualities will you bring to the program?
  • Resume

    • Length: one page strongly recommended, two pages maximum
