Today there are hundreds of New Sector Alliance alumni working across the globe in every sector of the economy. New Sector alumni are united by a strong interest in leveraging resources across sectors to effect social change, a creative spark and drive to develop innovative solutions to pressing challenges, and a shared commitment to achieving social impact throughout their lives. New Sector alumni pursue many paths. Examples include:
- Heidi Brooks: After leading several international development projects in Africa, consulting to a youth development client through New Sector, and graduating from Harvard Business School, Heidi forged and managed strategic alliances for Bridgestar. Now, Heidi serves as Director of Community Relations for John Hancock Financial Services.
- George Chu: While at MIT, George created a social return on investment (SROI) model for a workforce training program through New Sector. After graduating, George joined The Bridgespan Group and acted as an advisor to many New Sector teams. Recently, George became a New Sector client through his board membership at Bottom Line and his new role as CFO of Citizen Schools.
- Kate Goodwin: As a junior in college, Kate was a Summer Fellow for New Sector, working on a social enterprise marketing initiative. Upon graduation, she joined The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an Associate, where was a leader of BCG’s Community Service Committee. Currently, Katie is a student at Harvard Business School. She intends to pursue a career in business ethics.
Through formal events and informal networking, our alumni leverage the New Sector network to connect with each other, New Sector clients, and likeminded professionals and students.
