About New Sector Alliance

Founded in 2000, New Sector Alliance is a social impact consulting and leadership development firm. We create sustainable solutions to pressing community challenges through cross-sector partnerships. Our mission is to accelerate social change by strengthening organizations today while developing leaders for tomorrow.

To fulfill this mission, New Sector:

New Sector works towards these three goals simultaneously in partnership with leading academic institutions, consulting firms, nonprofits, and the Corporation for National & Community Service/AmeriCorps. We recruit, train, and support diverse top talent to work with clients, helping organizations better serve their constituents and their communities. At the same time, we provide transformative professional and personal development experiences to our program participants and staff, inspiring lifelong civic engagement. By providing essential services in the short-term while developing leadership in the long-term, New Sector creates sustainable solutions to pressing community challenges.

Since 2001, New Sector has completed close to 400 projects for 200 client organizations who are working in underserved communities to educate youth, create opportunities for the economically disadvantaged, improve health, and protect the environment. We have engaged over 850 students and young professionals in high impact community service with our university partners and AmeriCorps. This work has been supported by over 600 consultant advisors from partner firms including Accenture, Bain & Company, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the Bridgespan Group, Deloitte, McKinsey & Company, and Oliver Wyman.

"What is compelling about New Sector is its interrelated dual mission. Both parts of New Sector's mission are ends in themselves, but they are also mutually supportive, complementary means to an end. New Sector is making an impact in our communities and our society by doing two things at the same time - providing services that improve the capacity and performance of nonprofit organizations, and giving students and professionals leadership development experience in the social sector. That intersection cannot be overstated...and the ability to have mindshare and passion-share of people on a voluntary basis who arguably are going to become the leaders of this country is incredible."
